Raga Yaman

Raga Yaman is one of the most fundamental and majestic ragas in Hindustani classical music, often taught to beginners. It evokes a feeling of devotion, tranquility, and evening introspection. Its unique ascending scale 'Ni Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa' and descending scale 'Sa Ni Dha Pa Ma Ga Re Sa' create a distinct melodic character, characterized by the use of tivra Madhyam (sharp fourth) enhancing its serene, devotional evening aura.

Raga Bhairav

Raga Bhairav is a prominent morning raga, steeped in antiquity and associated with devotion and solemnity. It creates a mood of serious contemplation and profound peace, often performed at dawn. Its distinct characteristic is the use of komal Re  and komal Dha (flat sixth), lending it a deeply resonant and contemplative character with gentle andoscillating phrases that invite inward reflection and spiritual surrender.

Raga Bhoopali

Raag Bhoopali is a foundational pentatonic raga of the Kalyan thaat, often taught early to students of Hindustani classical music. It creates a calm, devotional, and uplifting atmosphere, associated with Bhakti and Shanti rasas and typically rendered in the early night hours. Using only five swaras and omitting Ma and Ni, its simple yet luminous melodic movement gives a feeling of serenity, openness, and gentle inner joy.
